It's been a couple of years since I first saw it but Mike Bailey's karate kid gimmick still hasn't gotten old. No amount of karate kicks can put down this half of the Violent Giants though. Bailey's flipping knee strikes look a little bit convoluted at points but they do look legitimately painful and about as strong as it would need to put down a monster like Shuji. But the story here was more how great the bumps that Bailey took looked. Ishikawa always looks like a killer but Bailey sold every single big movie like it was a death blow and it all looked amazing.
Ishikawa won with a crucifix powerbomb in about 20 minutes. Bailey has always been really fun to watch but he's finally coming around as a more complete guy and I can't wait to get to his next match in this DDT tournament. Little guy vs monster matches are plentiful and sometimes start to blend together but this is easily my favorite one in quite a while.
